Q: How do you help children transition to school?

We build kindy-readiness into the everyday – with group learning, routines, independence and collaborative play. We also talk about school, role play classroom scenarios, and support families with resources and transition planning.

Q: What if my child isn’t “academic” yet?

That’s perfectly okay. Every child develops in their own way. We meet them where they’re at and focus on building a love of learning, strong self-esteem and the foundational skills that will help them succeed when school starts.

Q: How is nutrition supported in the Chimp Room?

Children receive nutritious, balanced meals and snacks throughout the day, supporting their energy and concentration. Mealtimes are also social learning moments — we encourage independence, respectful table manners, and open conversations about food, culture and healthy choices.

Q: How does the Reggio Emilia approach influence this room?

The Reggio Emilia philosophy encourages children to lead their learning through curiosity and exploration. In the Chimp Room, this means project-based investigations, open-ended questions, and environments set up to invite discovery. Educators act as guides, helping children express their ideas and dive deeper into topics that interest them.

Curious Beginnings for Life’s Newest Explorers

The Chimp Room (0–12 months) is where discovery begins. This nurturing space is designed to support each infant’s early growth by encouraging movement, sensory exploration and connection with trusted carers.

Here, babies feel safe, seen and supported as they develop confidence in a world full of new sights, sounds and sensations. It’s a calm, engaging environment where curiosity is sparked and foundations are gently laid for lifelong learning.
